About Heart Start Training Services
At Heart Start Training Services, we understand that every person and organisation is different. That’s why we don’t offer generic training — we customise each course to fit your specific situation and needs.

Whether you’re a business working to meet safety standards, a community group wanting to be prepared, or an individual seeking practical, real-world skills, our training is designed to be relevant, effective, and fully accredited. We focus on giving you the knowledge and confidence you need — not just a piece of paper.

As part of creating a safe and supportive learning environment, we’re also proud to introduce Ilka – our support dog. Ilka has retired from her earlier role in an Adelaide guide-dog breeding program, where she raised four litters of future service and assistance dogs, and now brings calm, focus, and gentle encouragement, along with a spark of fun — to our training environment. She helps participants feel more at ease while building confidence in essential first aid skills. Ilka is available on Wednesdays at our Barossa studio by request, so let us know when booking if you’d like her to join your session.
Don’t wait until it’s too late. Book your spot today and take the first step toward being ready when it matters most.

All training and assessment is delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909), ensuring you receive fully accredited and nationally recognised certification.

Your Expert, Educator, and Advocate for Life-Saving Skills
At the heart of Heart Start Training Services is Fiona — our passionate, highly skilled lead trainer and the driving force behind every course we deliver.

With over 20 years of experience as a Registered Nurse across a wide range of healthcare settings, Fiona brings a rare combination of clinical expertise and heartfelt dedication to teaching. Since 2004, she has empowered individuals, workplaces, and community groups across South Australia and New South Wales with the skills and confidence to act in emergencies — calmly and effectively.
Backed by multiple training qualifications and a deep understanding of how people learn, Fiona ensures every session is clear, hands-on, and genuinely valuable. Whether she’s working with large teams, small groups, or individuals, she tailors each experience to meet the needs of the people in front of her.

Fiona’s mission is simple: to make sure you leave not just with a certificate, but with real-world knowledge, practical skills, and the confidence to use them when it matters most.
Her passion for making first aid accessible doesn’t stop at home. Fiona believes that everyone — no matter where they live or what resources they have — deserves access to life-saving skills. That’s why she’s actively preparing materials and exploring opportunities to expand training into underserved and remote communities internationally.

“This is just the beginning,” Fiona says. “When people feel confident to step forward in a moment of crisis, lives change — and sometimes, lives are saved. If I can play even a small part in that, then I know I’m doing something that truly matters.”
